As a full-time, professional award-winning Realtor since 1987, licensed in two states for several years (Michigan and Ohio), I have had the privilege of working with the most wonderful, loyal clientele any Realtor could ever hope to have. In addition, I have enjoyed outstanding cooperative relationships with my colleagues in this business throughout my professional career. That I feel "blessed" to have such a rewarding and satisfying "job" to do, is clearly an understatement! You can read some of my clients' comments posted on my testimonials page. As an Associate Broker today, working in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, I feel my career has come "full circle". After a 10-year career in Human Resources in both Washington, DC, and southeast Michigan, I spent several months in the "UP" during a transitional time in my life. I was a single parent of two young daughters facing awesome responsibilities. I obtained my real estate salesperson's license in Marquette, and when I returned to southeast Michigan to attend the real estate closing on the home I had sold there, I was hired by the broker at my own closing! So back to the western suburbs of Detroit we went; within 6 months I was the "top producer" in that real estate company. Over the next 12 years I listed and sold, literally, hundreds of homes with 75% of my business generated by referrals and repeat clients. 99% of my buyers received mortgage approvals, and 99% of my listings sold. During this time I obtained several professional designations, including ABR, GRI, and CRS; won numerous awards for achievement in sales, quality service, relocation, and client satisfaction; and obtained my Associate Broker's license. With my daughters grown and pursuing college, careers, and lives of their own, I made the personal choice to relocate to Columbus, Ohio, where I obtained my real estate license for that State and continued my career with the same large real estate franchise organization that I had been with in Michigan. I enjoyed surprisingly strong continued career success in this delightful community during the two years that I remained there. After many winter vacations to the Caribbean, I had a yearning to experience life in a warm climate, and I moved to Key West, Florida. My adult daughters loved visiting me in that location! And it was there I met and married my husband. Once he took an unexpected early retirement, he was more than ready to leave the Florida Keys after 20 years, and I was missing Michigan and its glorious four seasons. We decided to relocate to our favorite part of Michigan - the Upper Peninsula. With planning and luck, we managed to fly up to Michigan just hours before the arrival of my first grandchild, a boy, in Ann Arbor. We then drove up to Newberry and within days purchased a lovely home on a couple of wooded acres in Lakefield Township, between Newberry and Curtis. Once here, I was able to reactivate my MI Associate Broker's license and professional designations and utilize my years of experience in listing and selling existing homes, new stick-built homes, vacant land, and businesses. And, I am doing this back in the UP, right where I started my career in 1987. I've come full circle at last, and am enjoying every minute of it!
